Professional Tracker

Keira's scent was picked up by scent tracking dogs today. We believe that for time being, she is staying close to the foster's house. Please help us by emailing info@dogsxlrescue.org if you can help flyer the area around her escape (see map)

Keira's Story

Keira is a 1 year old yellow lab/golden retriever mix that weighs about 45 lbs.

Keira was last seen in her fosters back yard near the intersection of Barrington and Manchester Road in Catonsville, MD, where she panicked, dug a hole and ran from the home. In the process of escaping, she lost her collar that got caught on the fence.

Keira came into Dogs XL Rescue's Care less than a week before she escaped and is NOT familiar with her surroundings. It was VERY obvious that she had not experienced a home with any security before as well. She is EXTREMELY SHY and SCARED of ALL people. She will not come to someone at this point even with food.

Dogs XL Rescue has put together a team of volunteers that are trained in dog recovery and hired a professional dog search and track team to help with the recovery of Keira.

Originally Keira was found as a stray in Chesterfield, VA. She wound up in a shelter with little chance of survival. The shelter has almost NO local sources to place their dogs in homes leading to an extremely high euthanasia rate.

Dogs XL Rescue pulled Keira from the shelter, cared for her medically, transported her to the Baltimore area and has a loving foster home for her. She was just too scared to know that she was headed for a GREAT LIFE!

Please help us find Keira. Just emailing the blog, the "LOST DOG" flyer, or even posting the flyer in the area of her sightings is helpful.

WE ARE TRACKING HER SIGHTINGS AND HAVE A TRAINED DOG RECOVERY TEAM THAT CAN COME BRING HER HOME.
